Mercedes A Service

Wouldn’t it be awful if your Mercedes broke down due to an easily repairable fault?

If you skip your Mercedes service, this is what could happen.

The best way to keep your vehicle in peak condition is to service it regularly. It also gives you the opportunity to detect minor problems before they become serious (and costly), so it is an easy way to avoid major problems.

And, the longer you avoid servicing your Mercedes, the higher your breakdown risk. This is a stressful and dangerous situation, but it is easily avoidable.

Mercedes offers two types of services to keep your vehicle performing at its best:

  • Mercedes A Service
  • Mercedes B Service

You should always adhere to your servicing schedule no matter what type of service you need. The Mercedes A and B services are required to maintain your Mercedes warranty. More importantly, they keep you safe while driving.

When our recent client visited our Thatcham and Newbury garage, they were unsure which service their Mercedes C Class required.

Luckily, our Mercedes experts have many years of experience, knowledge, and skills working with Mercedes vehicles and have access to the same information the Mercedes dealerships do. No problem is too big or too small for our team.

Since our technicians are Mercedes specialists, they were able to advise the client immediately on the type of service their vehicle needed.

We offer dealership-level service with better value than the local Mercedes dealership at Fergies.

Mercedes A vs Mercedes B Service – What’s the Difference?

Among the most common questions asked at Fergies is, “What’s the difference between the Mercedes A and B Service? ”.

The differences between the two are as follows:

Mercedes A Service is usually required when your vehicle reaches one year old. The process is then repeated every two years (depending on mileage).

The Mercedes A Service includes the following:

  • Oil filter replacement
  • Synthetic motor oil replacement
  • Brake component inspection
  • Tyre inflation check & correction
  • Reset maintenance counter

The Mercedes B Service is more thorough than the A Service. It is best suited for older Mercedes vehicles (or if you’ve driven many miles).

One year after your Mercedes A Service, you will need a Mercedes B Service. The type of service your car requires alternates each year.

The Mercedes B Service includes the following:

  • Synthetic motor oil replacement
  • Cabin dust/combination filter replacement
  • Reset maintenance counter
  • Oil filter replacement
  • Brake component inspection

Our client didn’t know which service their Mercedes needed, so they asked our expert technicians for assistance.

Fortunately, our Mercedes specialists had access to the same manufacturer information as the main Mercedes dealerships and could inform them precisely what was needed.

The Next Step

In checking the Mercedes digital service records, our experts discovered that the C Class needed an A service.

However, a small problem was discovered during the Mercedes service regarding the vehicle’s wheel alignment.

Over time, the alignment of your vehicle’s wheels will change. This is often caused by speed bumps, potholes, curbs, and debris. All vehicles can experience this issue.

This isn’t an issue initially, but it can cause uneven tyre wear and make it harder to drive straight, reducing safety.

Isn’t it important to be safe on the road?

The problem can worsen if left unattended, increasing your risk of an accident and increasing the cost of repair.

Fortunately, the Mercedes C Class wasn’t seriously damaged by the misalignment. The right-hand front tire, however, was significantly worn compared to the rest, and its tread was below the legal standard.

Resolving the Problem

In order to keep the Mercedes safe and avoid further problems, its wheels and tyres needed to be realigned.

Our Mercedes service experts discussed the issues encountered with the client before commencing the required work.

At Fergies, you’re always kept in the loop – you are in complete control. We only begin working on your vehicle once you have given us the go-ahead .

Our experts got to work!

In order to prevent the problem from occurring again, the worn (and illegal) tyre was replaced with a new one and the wheels were realigned.

Every Mercedes A service includes a thorough safety inspection to ensure your vehicle is roadworthy. With our Mercedes servicing, we go above and beyond the servicing guidelines.

Our safety tests on the Mercedes C Class were successful. With confidence, we returned the keys to the client.

Our client was pleased to get their vehicle back within a few hours, something you wouldn’t get from a Mercedes dealership. At Fergies, you always get better than dealership servicing for better value.

Summary

Our recent client had a Mercedes C Class that needed to be serviced. However, they weren’t sure which type their Mercedes needed.

With decades of Mercedes servicing experience, our Mercedes service specialists have access to the same information as Mercedes dealerships.

The C Class needed a Mercedes A Service.

Our experts discovered their wheels were misaligned during the service, resulting in uneven tyre wear.

Within a few hours, our professionals replaced the tyre, realigned the wheels, and had the C Class back to its best.

We were pleased to be able to return the vehicle to our client in a roadworthy condition. Knowing their Mercedes was safe, they drove away with confidence.
