Mercedes B Service
If you want to maintain your Mercedes and keep it in peak working condition, then it needs regular servicing.
Mercedes has created two main service programs to ensure owners easily keep on top of maintenance needs. They are called Mercedes A and Mercedes B services.
At Fergies, our team knows all about these service routines and has vast experience servicing all Mercedes models. We follow Mercedes guidelines when it comes to servicing and repairs and our work will keep your warranty intact.
We are your local Mercedes specialist, and no one is better suited to provide exceptional care and attention for the best value.
Having your Mercedes serviced according to A and B guidelines makes sure it keeps going for years to come whilst maintaining its value.
Recently, our client came to us with their Mercedes C-Class with a need for a service. After already reaching out to Mercedes’s main dealer, they came to us unhappy about Mercedes’s 7-week lead time and high cost.
A long lead time is not ideal as usually service warnings appear just 4 weeks before the service is due and waiting that long would result in overdue maintenance.
As our customer came to us for specialist services and maintenance thanks to a recommendation from a friend. This made our team of Mercedes experts very happy.
We promise a shorter lead time than Mercedes’s main dealerships and get you back on the road quickly and efficiently.
We also have years of experience at Fergies. Handling a wide range of routine maintenance procedures, we have the expertise to fix any issue that arises with your Mercedes.
We confirmed immediately that our client needed a B service on their Mercedes C-Class.
Going above and beyond standard service routines, we have our safety checks and assessments at Fergies to ensure every customer car that enters our workshop is working optimally.
It’s a good job we performed this task, as during our assessment, we noticed a serious safety problem with our customer’s C-Class which needed fixing immediately.

Mercedes A and B Service, What’s the Difference?
We always get this question from customers:
“So what is the difference between Mercedes A and B services?”
Here is a simple breakdown of the differences:
The Mercedes A Service is usually needed when your car turns one year old or hits 10,000 miles (whichever happens first), and then every two years.
It covers:
- Changing synthetic motor oil
- Replacing the oil filter
- Checking and adjusting tyre pressure
- Inspecting brakes
- Resetting the maintenance counter
Whereas the Mercedes B Service is more comprehensive.
The Mercedes B Service is suggested for older cars or those with more mileage. It’s typically required every two years, alternating with the Mercedes A Service.
It includes everything in the A Service, and additionally:
– Changing the cabin dust/combination filter
Taking your Mercedes to Fergies for servicing ensures that it is handled properly. We have Mercedes-level access to repair information and records and will always provide better value than main dealers.
What Happened to our Customer’s C-Class?
During our customers’ C-Class service, our technicians discovered an issue with the front braking system. Both the discs and pads were heavily worn and below the legal limit.
Scary situation…
As your brakes are the only safety net to help you stop in an emergency, it is very dangerous driving around without sufficient brake pad material. It can also land you a huge fine if the police find out.
Braking-related issues are responsible for 25% of accidents, and taking care of your brakes is an essential part of vehicle ownership.
At Fergies, we get your Mercedes back on the road and working safely.
We handed our client a free courtesy car to ensure their day was not affected as we began work. Main dealers often charge for this service, but at Fergies, we go above and beyond the main dealer with the care and attention of our customers.
Fixing the Issue
As soon as we performed our safety check revealing the poor brakes, we called our client to discuss what we wanted to do next.
At Fergies, we always keep our customers in the loop, so they are not left with surprises when they collect their vehicles from us. Only start work once we have approval and after discussing in detail the time frame, cost, and issues.
As you are in control, we made sure our customer gave us the green light before proceeding. We sourced only genuine replacement Mercedes brake pads and discs.
Specialising in Mercedes vehicles, Fergies only uses genuine or high-quality alternative parts during our repairs. This makes sure that your Mercedes warranty is intact and that your car gets the best treatment possible.
What more could you ask for?
Upon completing the brake overhaul, we took the vehicle for a test drive and made sure that the new brakes worked exceptionally well.
After confirming the car was safe once more, we performed the routine B service and updated the service records on behalf of our customer to maintain their warranty.
Once everything was complete, we reached out to our client to inform them that their vehicle was ready to collect!
They were pleased to see their Mercedes C-Class back in tip-top condition after a full B service and front brake overhaul. We only took a few days to service and replace the brakes in their Mercedes and beat the main dealer lead time by several weeks.
With Fergies care and attention, you have the best service and safety checks which are all at better-than-dealer value and timeframe.

Summary
Our client recently brought their C-Class to our team at Fergies. They had complained of the main dealer taking too long and received a 7-week lead time from them.
7 weeks is just too long.
Fortunately, our team of Mercedes specialists were able to book them on the same day and went to work.
The safety inspection quickly confirmed that the customer’s C-Class had low brake pad material and brake discs were worn out beyond the legal limit. This compromises our customer’s safety, and we consulted them immediately to suggest a replacement.
When we received the go-ahead, our team replaced the worn brake parts and performed the Mercedes-B service in no time at all.
We returned our client’s car in the same week, and they were happy to see their brakes replaced at a better-than-dealer value and turnaround time.
If you need a Mercedes service but do not want to wait several weeks for it to be done, then reach out to your local Mercedes specialist at Fergies today.
