Audi ABS Braking System

How to Solve Braking System ABS Fault in Audi A4

The ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) in your Audi is vital when it comes to keeping you safe. It needs several components to work reliably, and without it, you have a longer braking distance which risks your safety.

Our client recently brought their Audi A4 to us, complaining of a warning light on the dashboard. We knew what to do and began working on a solution immediately. We needed to first understand the dashboard warning lights and see if they could pinpoint the areas we needed to check.

We discovered the dashboard warning light was related to a brake system fault and the ABS light was also illuminating. Our client mentioned that they had no issues with their Audi A4 before the warning light. It didn’t show any warnings and no symptoms appeared.

Our team of expert Audi technicians soon found the issue and got to work…

Investigation of the ABS Light

Using our extensive experience with Audi cars and our specialist tools, we quickly realised the importance of investigating the wiring. We referred to the Audi Technical Product Information (TPI) to see if they had encountered this issue before, which gave our Audi experts useful details.

Upon examining the ABS wiring system, we found all wires were undamaged, but the brake pressure sensor had malfunctioned. The TPI, unfortunately, indicated that if the issue with the brake pressure sensor was left unresolved, the entire ABS module would require replacement.

Following our thorough assessment, we confirmed there were no other issues with the Audi.

Thanks to the knowledge and skills of our Audi specialists, we could pinpoint the problem and provide a solution to the client on the first attempt.

The Solution

The solution was straightforward once we understood the issue. We verified that the entire ABS needed replacement alongside the brake pressure sensor.

We placed an order for the necessary parts and received them the following day. We installed a new brake pressure sensor and a new ABS pump, restoring the ABS to its original condition. After programming and coding the replacement Audi pump, we conducted a final check to ensure that our team had resolved the problem, and that the Audi A4 was prepared for return to the customer.

Our team successfully diagnosed, repaired, and returned the Audi A4 to our client within 48 hours.
