What's a DPF?
It’s a filter that captures and stores soot from your exhaust, in order to reduce emissions and heavy black smoke from coming out of the exhaust pipe from a diesel car.
But because they only have a finite capacity, this trapped soot periodically has to be emptied or ‘burned off’ to regenerate the DPF.
It seems simple. But, if your Diesel Particulate Filter gets blocked, your engine won’t be as efficient as it should be. And, due to tight regulations, that can be expensive.
